Kathleen Rose Roberts

West Australian–born and now based in Munich, Germany, Kathleen leads an independent practice shaped by over a decade in the Sydney art ecosystem. Her experience spans roles across commercial galleries and auction houses, alongside work in support of both public and private collections. She is currently a PhD candidate in Art History at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, where working closely with European archives adds depth and perspective to her advisory work.

Kathleen specialises in provenance research and documentation for acquisitions and established collections, particularly where histories are complex or incomplete. Her approach draws on connoisseurship and art-historical context, including when works move across jurisdictions – shaped in part by specialised training in cultural heritage law and the ethics of cultural objects.

Beyond the market, she has led national accreditation and regulatory governance for art and design curricula in Australian higher education – experience that lends composure and clarity when advisory work touches institutional standards.

Whether advising young collectors or refining long-standing collections, she keeps the artwork and the collector’s intent at the centre, guided by taste, curiosity, and conviction.
