Former Melbourne based gallerist now art advisor, Catherine Asquith has an academic background in Art History, extensive international travel and residency and, in excess of 20 years working within the Australian art market, and latterly, the Asian and International art market, across both the primary and secondary sectors.
Catherine’s art expertise comprises Australian Modernist, Contemporary and Indigenous art, S.E. Asian Contemporary art, and International Modern, Post war and Contemporary art.
Currently managing several corporate collections and developing a number of private collections, Catherine is frequently engaged in advisory and consulting roles on curatorial projects across various sectors including commercial and residential property developments nationally, in addition to museum and cultural infrastructure projects, internationally.
Catherine Asquith is a member of the Art Consulting Association of Australia, an AVAA Certified Practising Valuer (Auctioneers and Valuers Association of Australia), a member of the City of Melbourne’s external assessment panel (visual arts) and a member of international arts professional platform, Art Mavens, and provides advisory and appraisal services to the global art consultancy, Velvenoir.
